This release consists of feature enhancements and hotfixes for bugs and issues reported by our clients over October and November of 2024.

Enhancements

  • Precheck Decision and Final Decision now have the same fields to collect comments from Academic Editors: one field to capture the notes for the author and a separate field hosting the (optional) notes for the editors. Until now the Precheck Decision had a different data structure for Academic Editor’s notes which was creating confusion.

Fields for Decision Comments

  • Article Publication Metadata is now automatically populated as soon as manuscript is accepted. This new automation makes it easier for production editors to retrieve all relevant metadata of a manuscript from one single place in the system in order to produce higher quality files.

  • JAMS supports now simplified Chinese as application language.

Bug Fixes

  • Bug that was influencing wrong time variable display in Major revision email templates has now been fixed.

  • Issue that caused receiving multiple copies of Minor revision email has now been resolved.

  • Some of our clients received an error when trying to view editor’s decision, this has now been fixed.

  • A patch has been deployed in order to track and trace possible errors when it comes to unsuccessful submission of reviewer reports.

New JAMS Support Center

  • We are happy to announce the new website of the JAMS Support Center. We hope that the new design will bring a better user experience when seeking assistance in the portal.
