Allow Handling Editors to make Editorial Decision

In cases where the Handling Editor and Academic Editor roles are being carried out by the same person, this optional feature will streamline the workflow and cut out the additional step of sending the manuscript to the Academic Editor.

The Handling Editor will be able to select a decision directly from the manuscript page by clicking the "Make a Decision" button.

The decision workflow will remain identical to the original workflow, but it will remove the need to access the manuscript via the ‘Academic Editor’ menu.

This feature will be useful for journals where the editorial board are also carrying out the editorial work.

NB. This button will not appear if the Editor is one of the authors on the manuscript.
